Key players gathered to discuss boosting rice export quality from Myanmar
‘Advanced farming technology for sustainable development in ASEAN’ was the topic at the recent forum at Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Key industry players gathered on 25 May 2017 to discuss how to boost rice export quality from Myanmar.
Mr. U Aung Myint, member of Myanmar Rice Federation, said “The demand by consumers for better quality rice has increased and Myanmar is trying to become a major rice exporter. This has led to much pressure on producers and processors, to produce better quality rice.”
Mr. Sarit Yongsiri,Thai Rice Mills Association, said “There are three main requirements to produce good quality milled rice -good quality raw material: the starting quality of the paddy should be good, with the right moisture at around 14 percent; state of the art equipment: the rice mill should be clean and well maintained; and operation skills: the mill should be operated by skilled operators. If any of these requirements are not met, milling will result in poor quality rice.”
Showcase of technologies to increase quality and pricing of domestic cassava in Thailand
From 17 to 19 May 2017, Rakbankerd Co.,Ltd. and IMPACT, held an Innovative Live Demonstration Roadshow, at Don Chang Sub-district, Mueang Khon Kaen District, Khon Kaen Province.
The government has initiated new measures to increase the pricing of domestic cassava root prices; one of which is by setting minimum export price for tapioca products. It aims to improve farmer’s lives and to encourage them to apply technology, to increase productivity.

This local event gathered almost 200 farmers and professionals, who tried their hands on the new and innovative machines of K.K. Kasetkollakarn Banpong, as well as that is the Rotary Tiller, Ripper Sub-Soiler and Cassava Planter.
